“Governments around the world have successfully explored the potential of blockchain in areas such as land registration (Georgia, UK, Sweden, India, South Africa), digital identity management (Switzerland, Estonia, Luxembourg), birth certificates (Brazil), immigration (Finland), organ donation and transplant (UAE) and taxation (China) [4, 5]”, said Lord Chris Holmes of Richmond, putting down amendments to the UK Parliament and citing a recommendation from the UK’s National Blockchain Roadmap.
