UK Blockchain Roadmap recommendation reaches Parliament

“The UK’s National Blockchain Roadmap (NBR) published in July last year made several recommendations to support the development of a British blockchain ecosystem.

“To this end, I have put down amendments to the Elections Bill that would require the Government to research the benefits of blockchain for both electronic voting and improving the security of the electoral register,” Lord Chris Holmes of Richmond said today.

In 2018, BBA Advisor Professor Kevin Curran wrote a paper entitled “E-Voting on the Blockchain”, which was subsequently featured in the NBR. Lord Holmes’ original recommendations are also worth reading. They can be found here in the JBBA:
